threaten our democracy and imperil the future of the United States!
Know these lies! They are the enemies of justice and freedom!
BIG LIE #1:
THE MEDIA COULDN'T SAY IT
IF IT WASN'T TRUE
Some people believe that there is a law requiring that anything printed in a newspaper or broadcast on TV, Radio, or Cable (or the Internet) must be true. This is a LIE!
There is no requirement that those controlling our media must tell the truth!
This is why you get so many "infomercials" for weight loss products, virility pills, and other fake medicines and schemes and products that just don't work.
This is also why the American Media continue to run political advertising featuring featuring false claims about one candidate or another. The media is under no obligation to tell the truth!
With the control of much of the media now in the hands of a very few, rich corporations and individuals, a statement closer to the truth might be:
The media wouldn't say it if there wasn't a profit in it.
Lies perpetuated by the media line the pockets of media owners and keep those with the most money in power in the US.
The "Fairness Doctrine" -- requiring both sides of a political argument to be aired -- was killed during the Regan Administration! This is why there is so little difference of opinion in the media, especially on AM Talk Radio.
There is no requirement to be fair just as there is no requirement to tell the truth!
BEWARE WHAT YOU HEAR OR READ!

BIG LIE #2:
GREED IS GOOD
Greed is not good. Greed may be a natural, human instinct, but that does not make it right or even beneficial.
Greed, in fact, leads to the unnecessary hoarding of wealth which keeps much of the world -- even much of America -- poor.
Greed is the motive that polluters use to continue fouling our water and air. "It costs too much not to pollute," is their personal Big Lie.
Many of the things that are wrong with American society "cost too much to fix" -- which means, they would cost some people more money than they care to spend.
But the Truth is our health and welfare as a people, a nation, and a planet are priceless. Our air and water can never be "too clean." Our citizens can never be "too healthy."
"Every man for himself" only ensures that all but one man will lose!
AMERICA IS WEALTHY ENOUGH THAT NO ONE
NEEDS TO "GO WITHOUT"
IF ALL OF US WORK TOGETHER! REJECT GREED IN ALL OF ITS DISGUISES!
ENRICH YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOU ENRICH YOURSELF!
BIG LIE #3:
THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS
Dictators throughout history have believed this maxim. That is the creed that allowed Hitler to sweep across Europe, It is the credo that enabled Communists to seize power in China and Russia, It is the lie that empowered various despots throughout history and continues to empower them today.
Evil means lead, invariably, to evil ends!
You cannot fight evil by adopting its methods against it. Evil must be fought with GOODNESS. Lies must be fought with TRUTH.
A "do anything to win" currently dominates many parts of our government. We must reject this approach. Our citizens do not win when they can no longer tell the truth from cleverly-constructed lies. The United States does not win when a few of our citizens benefit and the majority suffer!
DO NOT FIGHT THE ENEMY WITH THEIR OWN
EVIL TACTICS!
DO NOT STOOP TO THE LEVEL OF THOSE WHO DESPISE FREEDOM!
SPEAK THE TRUTH AND DEMAND TRUTH FROM OUR LEADERS!
DEMAND THAT WE TAKE A JUST COURSE TO ACHIEVE A JUST END!
BIG LIE #4:
THE RICH DESERVE WHAT THEY HAVE;
THE POOR AREN'T WORKING HARD ENOUGH
There are both "deserving rich" and "deserving poor" in the United States. Many rich people have worked hard to obtain what they have -- but many have not! In the US, many are born into wealth, though they have done nothing to achieve or deserve it themselves.
Some poor people are lazy and unscrupulous, but many of them work just as hard -- or harder -- than the majority of Americans. Many hold two or more jobs just trying to make ends meet and keep their families together.
Despite talk of America being a "classless society," many of our governmental and tax systems are set up to perpetuate the "status quo" -- that is, they keep things the way things are right now.
Rich people do not want poor people to become rich if it threatens the wealth and power of those who are already rich. These people will do whatever it takes -- even lie, cheat, and steal -- to keep what they have. Often, their wealth and power allows them to influence our laws and government systems to perpetuate their wealth.
Is it fair to live in a society where a rich person can declare bankruptcy, put hundreds out of work, and still keep his mansions and even his own TV show? Is it fair to live in a society where a poor person can afford neither health care nor a home for his/her family, even though he or she works 40 hours a week or more?
This is not the American Dream. This is a perpetuation of the feudal society (peasants, lords, and kings, all born into their station) that America was founded to counter.
LET US WORK FOR A NATION WHERE YOUR BIRTH STATUS DOES NOT DETERMINE WHETHER YOU WILL BE WEALTHY OR NOT. LET US WORK FOR A SOCIETY WHERE HARD WORK, FAIR PLAY, AND HONESTY ARE REWARDED. LET US WORK FOR A SOCIETY WHERE MERIT COUNTS FOR MORE THAN MONEY. LET US WORK FOR AN AMERICA WHERE THE AMERICAN DREAM CAN COME TRUE!
BIG LIE #5:
HUMANS CANNOT AFFECT WORLD CLIMATE
This is a lie perpetuated by those also perpetuating BIG LIES #1 and #2. They use this lie to feed their own greed and lust for power, and use the media outlets they own to prop up this lie. To bolster their case, they usually haul out a scientist or "scientific study" which "proves" that Global Warming does not exist.
THIS IS A PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS LIE. It allows those who tell it to continue raping our limited natural resources for their own personal gain.
The people and studies propping up this case are paid for by the very polluters who are most responsible for Global Warming! In short, they are paid to lie, and to cook the numbers to come up with a result that their employers agree with.
THE MAJORITY OF CLIMATE SCIENTISTS STUDYING THE GLOBAL WARMING PHENOMENON AGREE THAT GLOBAL WARMING IS REAL AND THAT IT IS CAUSED BY HUMAN ACTIVITY, PARTICULARLY POLLUTION OF VARIOUS TYPES.
