BIG NEWS!
PODO & THE MAGIC SHIELD just WON the Origins Award
for Best Game-Related Fiction, Short!

Click on  my Awards Page for details!

During 2003 I did a whole bunch of Mage Knight fantasy stories. I wrote four two-part stories and one single part story. I'm very proud of all this work.  Happily, it's all available for FREE on the web. Such a deal!

The links below will take you to the stories.

THE "JOLUM THE FISH" RIVER TRILOGY

This is my MK "epic." It consists of 3 two-part stories. The last of these stories has been recently posted. I was very flattered when the game designers decided to alter the future history of the characters in these stories because they liked the way I portrayed Jolum and his crew. They're also talking about making some of them into game figures!  How cool is that?

THE FALL

This story deals with the dragon-like Draconum, specifically, two characters who will be important to future Mage Knight storylines.

Podo is a fan favorite character. A "pipsqueak" of an orc who, nevertheless, has managed to become important in many Mage Knight games.

This story WON this year's (2004) Origins Award for Best Game-Related Fiction, Short (Story).

Again, the win took me almost completely by surprise.  I didn't even know the voting was over!  When I got a late-night call from my editor, Kevin Goddard, I thought he wanted to talk to me about some kind of new project.  Imagine my shock when he told me that Podo had won the Origins Award!  (My second win in four consecutive nominations!)

I'm still stunned as I write this.   And, again, the only things I can compare this to is my wedding or the birth of my kids.  Or my previous Origins Award win.  Or the fact that my poet brother, Mark, just won a big award, too!  (Which I didn't find out until I called to tell him of my own win.  A good week for the eldest Sullivan Brothers!)

I doubt this is a feeling I'll ever get tired of.  :-)

Many thanks to all of Podo's supporters (especially Kevin & Scott!) and all those who voted for my work.  This is your win, too!
