The book is the official novelization of the upcoming movie based on the Gerry Anderson Super-Marionation series from the 1960s.

As a big fan of the Thunderbirds, I was thrilled to work on this book. In fact, in a lucky coincidence, the editor called me up and offered it to me the same day I was going to call my agent and say, "Get me this book, whatever it takes."  It's nice when the universe conspires with you (rather than against you).

The movie should be fun.  Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek: TNG) is directing, and Bill Paxon and Ben Kingsley star -- along with a cast of young newcomers.

The characters in the movie are younger than those in the original TV series.  Still, I tried to incorporate as much of the feel of the original show as I could along with the elements of the screenplay.

People who have liked my other books will probably enjoy this fast-paced adventure as well.  It's aimed at younger readers (like my detective books, and the new Dragonlance YA book), but I always try to make my work fun for readers of all ages.

Sadly, the dedication to my children and my brothers was left out of the final edition.  (Legal reasons?)  Along with my thanks to Gerry Anderson for all his great TV shows.
